Holistic healing is defined in Webster’s dictionary as "relating to or concerned with complete systems, rather than the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts...a medicine that attempts to treat both mind and body…". Holistic healing is any healing that works on the "whole" person. It is not a "cure" for an ailment, but an approach that acknowledges and incorporates the mind, body, and spirit as a way to wellness, acknowledging all three as vital and interconnected in order to maintain or regain health.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines mental health as "a state of emotional and psychological well
being in which an individual is able to use his or her cognitive emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life.
Energy medicine is a form of holistic healing that dates back thousands of years. The premise of energy work is that there is an energy system in the body, much like the circulatory system, that circulates "life force energy" or "chi" through the meridians and Chakras. The treatment then, is to realign, replenish or clear the energy system so that energy can flow freely.
